ANKC, Dogs Victoria and Schutzhund

The below was taken from DOL forums. I personally feel we need to make sure this doesn't happen in Australia. Although I am not personally involved in dogsport (Schutzhund/IPO), I however feel the right to work and train in this internationally recognised sport should NOT be taken away from Australian working dog lovers. Secondly, that the ANKC has no right to strip these titles from working dog pedigrees.

Why is it that people with little knowledge can make decisions for those that have years of experience and expertise in this sport? Why do these organisations falsely state that dogs in these sports are trained to "attack" when they are not? Maybe some of these answers are below. I did not write the below, however feel it express the seriousness of this situation.

ANKC & Schutzhund

From the Dogs Victoria website.

Schutzhund
The ANKC has issued a directive that Schutzhund titles obtained in other countries by dogs imported into Australia will not be added to the ANKC database at the time of reregistration. Schutzhund titles such as SCH & IPO previously added to the ANKC database will be removed. SCH, IPO & other similar titles are a form of attack training and the ANKC does not recognise these titles or discipline.
